He worked in the oil industry in New Orleans as a tow boat captain. In 1989 he returned to Savannah and launched the riverboat cruises on the Savannah River.
He later worked at the Roundhouse Railroad Museum before founding SeeSavannah Walking Tours in 1997. Much of the information in the book has been gathered through years of research and personal interviews.
In addition to the book, a walking tour is also available. Robert's tour company also offers tours highlighting Savannah's Historic District, its gardens, Savannah and the Civil War and piracy along the Atlantic coast. Private tours are also available. |
